Citywide Conference
A Sense of Place:
Weaving Neighborhood Fabric Back Together
A conference for community leaders about preserving and celebrating Philadelphia's neighborhoods.
This annual conference, held on October 12, 2012, at the Temple University Student Faculty Center on the medical school campus, was a rousing success. More than 100 attendees enjoyed a day of learning about the many resources available to strengthen and build upon the successes in their communities by incorporating historic preservation into their tool kits.
Philadelphia is a city of great neighborhoods, and preserving their sense of place and distinctive character is key to sustaining a healthy community and achieving successful neighborhood revitalization.
The 2012 conference featured:
- Plenary Session with Keynote Speaker Donovan Rypkema, Principal of PlaceEconomics, a Washington, D.C.-based real estate and economic development-consulting firm
