Special Recognition Awards

The James Biddle Award for lifetime achievement
Mary Werner DeNadai, FAIA

Over the course of her distinguished career as a preservationist, Mary DeNadai has not only helped to preserve many remarkable buildings, she has also contributed greatly to the development of important preservation organizations. Mary has been a trustee of the National Trust, Trust Advisor for Pennsylvania, and is now a Trustee Emeritus, as well as a long standing board member of Preservation Pennsylvania.

The Preservation Alliance Board of Directors Award
Urban Outfitters, Inc.

Urban Outfitters has had a long association with historic properties in the Philadelphia region, as locations for its Anthropologie stores and its Corporate Headquarters. Urban Outfitter’s recent commitment to the renovation of historic buildings at the Navy Yard demonstrates an extraordinary corporate commitment to preservation.

Patricia Patterson

Pat Patterson has been a dedicated volunteer at the Preservation Alliance for over five years. Pat has provided consistent support to our membership development efforts as well as many of the Alliance’s other activities.

Community Action Awards

Greenbelt Knoll Residents
Philadelphia ,Pa.
The residents of Greenbelt Knoll prepared a nomination and successfully obtained designation of their community as an Historic District. This designation marked the 50th Anniversary of Greenbelt Knoll’s founding as the first racially integrated suburban style development in Philadelphia.

Concord School House Board of Directors
Philadelphia, Pa.
The Board of Directors of the Concord School House have demonstrated exemplary stewardship in reviving the management and operation of this 1775 historic one-room school house and in organizing programs for school groups and the general public.

Proud Neighbors of Collingswood
Collingswood, NJ
Since 1983, Proud Neighbors of Collingswood has organized programs to develop awareness and educate residents about historic preservation. Through house tours, workshops for homeowners, and special events, this organization of dedicated volunteers has made remarkable contributions to maintain the historic character of Collingswood.
