Significance:
Founded in 1873, the Allen AME congregation moved from its second home at 1701-1711 Bainbridge Street (see entry) to this location after 1962. According to Cooperman, the congregation moved into the former Fourth Reformed Presbyterian Church, built in 1917 from designs by architect George D. Savage.
