Significance:
Founded in 1844, the Central Presbyterian congregation moved from its first home at 832-836 Lombard Street (see entry) to this location by 1962. According to Cooperman, the congregation moved into a former Friends Meeting House, built ca. 1875 and altered by the Quaker architectural firm of Morris & Vaux in 1903. The congregation continues to occupy this property.
