Pinn Memorial Baptist Church Site
Neighborhood:West
Address:
possibly near 700 Holly St.
Philadelphia, PA 19104
Significance:
Founded in 1912, the Pinn Memorial Baptist congregation was created through a schism in the Monumental Baptist congregation (see entry), according to Cooperman. Though the congregation does not appear in historic directories of African-American churches, it was presumably located in West Philadelphia, perhaps near 700 Holly Street where the pastor lived ca. 1913. The congregation moved to its current home at 2251 N. 54th Street (see entry) sometime in the 1970s.
