Significance:
Germantown High School sits partly on land once owned by freed slave Robert Clymer, who inherited the property from his former owner, physician Christopher Witt. According to the Germantown Historical Society, Clymer had been trained as his owner's physician's assistant, and was granted his freedom, the house and the land upon Witt's death.
