Neighborhood:North
Address:
transitory locations, 2109 N. Broad St., Thompson above 16th, Co
Philadelphia, PA
Significance:
Founded in 1902, the St. Augustine congregation apparently met in several locations without building a permanent home. According to Cooperman, the congregation commissioned designs in 1909 from Thomas, Churchman & Molitor for a building at 1608 W. Thompson Street, but by 1918, another congregation (Holy Tabernacle, see entry) occupied that address. Sometime after 1923, the St. Augustine congregation merged with the Church of the Covenant congregation and took over that congregation's building at 2701 W. Girard Avenue (see entry).
