Significance:
William Dorsey (1837-1923) was the "custodian" of the American Negro Historical Society, and created hundreds of scrapbooks of newspaper clippings and other ephemera that now provide crucial insight into the lives of Africans Americans in the late 19th century. Dorsey's last house was at 206 Dean Street (now Camac Street).
