Significance:
Founded in 1794, Zoar Methodist Church or "Mother" Zoar moved from its original location at 409 Brown Street (see entry) to this site in 1883. According to Cooperman, the congregation's new building was designed by Thomas P. Lonsdale, with alterations in 1925-26 by architect Charles Gilmore.
