Significance:
This was the second home of the African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas, founded in 1792. According to Cooperman, the congregation moved from its original location at 5th and St. James Streets (see entry) to this location in 1890, into a church building designed for the congregation by T. Frank Miller. The church survived there through at least 1938, though the adjacent property to the south was developed as the S. S. White Dental Manufacturing Company Porcelain Tooth Factory in 1907. The property is currently an at-grade parking lot.
