25th Anniversary Celebration

The Preservation Alliance’s 25th Anniversary Celebration takes us to Bartram’s Garden…

…a historic public park, house, garden, and arboretum located along the west bank of the Schuylkill River. Founded in 1728 by botanist John Bartram, this 50-acre National Historic Landmark is the oldest surviving botanical garden in North America.

Join us for an elegant evening, as we honor Sam Katz, winner of the special Silver Anniversary Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the public’s understanding of Philadelphia history.

A lifelong Philadelphian, Sam has had a unique career in public and project finance, venture capital, civic affairs, development, politics, and documentary filmmaking. As founder of History Making Productions, Sam produces documentary films on the history of Philadelphia including the soon to be released, American Experiment: The Struggle for Philadelphia, a 5-part, 8 1/2 hour series that will be first screened locally before its national launch, and Beethoven in Beijing focusing on the Philadelphia Orchestra’s long relationship with Chinese musicians and audiences and the growing role China is playing in the global classical music world.
